JULIANA PIG HERD of 10 animals $5,000:
Selling off most of our fantastic herd of registered Juliana pigs.
Julianas are extremely rare in Canada, with only 3 registered breeders.
Julianas are the smallest of the registered pig breeds, coming in at 70-120lb as adults (with the occasional outlier smaller or larger). Even our largest sow and boar are only knee-high!
They are truly small, although quite solidly built and surprisingly CHONK. They dress out well, with tender, dark red meat. They also make exceptional pets if hand tamed young - wean to dish-fed milk and hand-feeding at 4-5 weeks of age for fastest results, although even adults can be tamed to be petted and rubbed and hugged.
Over the past 15 years, I have selected pigs for strong conformation, even muscling and gentle temperment. So gentle by nature that even sows that are not hand-tame will tolerate human presence with their litters.
Julianas usually have 4-6 piglets per litter, meaning they produce a fine number for a small homestead, while eating very little compared to almost any other livestock.
They are a joy to be around. I am keeping 3 sows and a boar, meaning we have 10 for sale, including one very fine boar. All are registerable with JPAR and I am happy to undertake that process and transfer them into the new buyer's name.
$800 each or $5,000 for all ten ($500 each).
