Nigerian Dwarf
The Nigerian Dwarf goat was once a common fixture in zoos across North America, often referred to simply as the "West African Goat," and originally imported to feed carnivores en route to the zoos. The generic miniature goats in these venues ran the gamut of type and style, with animals carrying either an angular, lean dairy style, a short, cobby meat style, or a blend of both.
Over time they gave rise to our beloved Nigerian Dwarves (dairy) and Pygmies (pet/meat).
